Subject: RE: Inspection forms

To all,

Regarding inspection forms, do not customize to met local AHJ request. Go to
RelMark www.relmark.net and click on RelMark Group to review the Risk
Management implications. A local sprinkler contractor modified an NFPA 25
inspection form to do the local AHJ a favor and ended up on the losing end of a
$12,000,000.00 loss as a result of an inspection with the modified inspection
form.

The NFPA 25 forms developed by the AFSA and NFSA are based on limiting the
contractors liability which was the basis of the development of NFPA 25, to
limit the inspecting contractor's liability to the operational mode of the
water based suppression system not to the original design and installation of
the system. NFPA 25 is based on the original system being installed and
inspected in accordance to the code at time of acceptance (NFPA 13). The
inspecting sprinkler contractor should not assume any more liability than he
already has.

Have a fire safe holiday!

Delete | Quick Reply | Actions | View As Plain TextYou can buy the CD or the
AFSA and NFSA both sell them. I buy them from the Association. There is a lot
of liability with inspections and its hard to miss something if you use their
forms. Plus they are the Industry Standard. Many use their own letterhead and
copy the forms onto it, which exposes them to more liability and risk because
they are then the author and not the Associations.    Re: Inspection Forms

Inspection Forms  I have been asked to evaluate the current
status of our inspection departments forms.  I was wondering if any of you
would have any 13 & 25 inspection forms you would mind sharing.  The form
currently being used I am told is an old Grinnell form from the 60's.  I would
greatly appreciate any help you can provide.  I can be reached off forum at
