Todd,
I am not aware of any either. This brings up a good question though. The
AHJ's in our area are hitting NFPA 25 5-year inspections pretty hard
specifically obstruction investigations, this kinda poses a problem when the
pipe is above a hard lid ceiling, mostly were I see this is in older nursing
homes. For present and future projects since AHJ's are looking at this I
would think they would require the access panels when hard lid ceilings
exist throughout a facility? Any of the AHJ's on the forum have any ideas?

Subject: access panel

Where are access panels required? I am working on a project where
there are a lot of combustible concealed spaces with sprinklers
installed. Several of these spaces will not be accessible when the
sheetrock is installed. Is there a Code reference as to where access
panels are required? I couldn't find any, but that is not unusual.
