Reviewing an existing situation. 22'-25' top of storage (furniture). 4
levels single and double row racks solid plywood shelves crossing all flues.
And when I say rack it's not the metal you'd think of. They are all wood
built, columns and all. I assumed what I would see was no in-rack and
ceiling only with solid shelves, not the case. They have in-racks under
each level. While walking through thought all would be good based on first
impression. Open book ('02) to find design and seem to be coming up
short in what is the proper design. Roof is .2/1500 each level of rack is
.2/1500 not simultaneous with overhead. Two rows of in-rack in the double
row racks even. Again at each level.
12.3.1.9.2 says solid shelves equals every tier in-rack. Check, but where
do I find the design densities. Can't use 12.3.2.1.2 because it's based on
w/o solid shelves. 12.3.2.1.5.5 reduction of 40% doesn't do good because
the premise is you've used one of the curves out of 12.3.2.1.2 which you
can't.
In some respects it seems we have multiple mezzanines at 5' intervals. But
I don't see a clear line where one crosses a line between mezzanines and
rack storage. I recall a long time ago something similar and recall the
conclusion was every level in-rack with barriers was not rack storage or HPS
for that matter. Any thoughts?
