We're not required to bring installations up to current codes every time
they change.

Seriously, are we going to be re-calculating 1970's-era pipe-scheduled dry
systems in nursing home attics to the higher pressures now required?

Replace ALL SR sprinklers in existing light hazard occupancies with QR since
the 1996 #13 required them?

Water meters and their associated valves are typically the property of the
water department and considered as not being subject to the same NFPA
requirements as sprinkler system valves.

It's a fine line because if you had a municipal water source supplying a
sprinkler system, the control valves along the water main are not
supervised, where does it change identity from a municipal water main to a
fire main?

For the purposes of an NFPA 25 inspection, are valves in meter pits sealed?
I believe they are. The meter pit access door requires a special key to
open. (1/4 turn square wrench) . The valves inside the pit are not sealed or
supervised, but the pit access door would be considered sealed; right?
