Yes we've used the OPW petroleum Prod.(Special Class) For flex situation's.
We found that they actually MFG the Swivel joints for Monitors for fire
engines.

Ron,

1. Waiting on answer from mfg.
2. I'm asuming (their's that word again) it for vibration and/or tank
settling.
3. Tank is only for Fire Protection
4. Metraflex was just one of the ideas floated in the office.

At one of the casinos in Mississippi we used 4 unlisted ball joints, even
with all that if the water rose over 12' they had to close the casino and
disconnect the umbilical's for all the utilities.

Richard,

1. Why not ask the tank manufacturer exactly what they mean?
2. How much deflection do they want?
3. Is the tank solely for fire protection? The well itself is
essentially a break tank and so you could argue that the FRP tank is
not a exclusive part of the fire system. I'm thinking about that
"listed parts" thingie.
4. If the Metraflex type connection is what the tank guys want maybe
you can get metraflex to make you a short, straight piece.

This kind of reminds me of the floating dock problem.
