I ma working on a job where the engineer wants to run the mains through penetrations in steel beams. The question came up about clearance between the penetration and the pipe. Section 9.3.4 does not specifically address beams, but it is referenced in the handbook commentary under 9.3.4.1. Any thoughts on what minimum penetration size is required?
