An office is rectangular except for a small, V-shaped alcove. Minus the alcove, the room could be protected by 2 sprinklers. If I apply 8.6.3.2.3 (13-2002), the distance between the existing sprinkler and the corner is 11'-4", just within the 11'-5" maximum for that ruling. I have used this section for rooms with tight angular walls, but never for an angular alcove. Would this be an acceptable application?
