My point was that after the contractor gets it for "a little more than a third"
of the list price the end user will see that price plus shipping and markup
from the contractor. I believe that it is pretty close to industry standard for
the end user to see a price pretty close to list on foam. Not all people
reading the forum would understand this and not all AHJ's have worked for Big G
for over 20 years.

The original values were list prices off a manufacturers web site. The reduced
cost I mentioned was what the supplier actually quoted the contractor. We all
know how list pricing versus volume discounted pricing works. We spent $70K on
foam concentrate alone not to mention the rest of the equipment.

Another thing to keep in mind. When Craig says that he got the foam from a
"supplier" for a little more than 1/3rd the list price he may mean that he got
it direct from the manufacturer. When we as contractors get a call asking for
foam we then go to the manufacturer. We get his price to us and then mark it up
and sell it to the end user. Another factor in the price that the end user sees
is the shipping costs. Typically the end user will see pricing close to list
price which is what he would buy it for anyway.

David be aware that many contractors will charge LIST price or higher for the
products we supply. Just because we can buy it for 1/3 or 1/2 of list doesn't
mean we can sell it for that to a customer.

At least not if we want to stay in business.

Viking Has prices on their website, AR-AFFF for a 55 gallon drum of 3% @
$2909.25, for AFFF 55 gal drum, $1524.85

Smallest quantity is 5 gallons, AR-AFFF = $273.60, AFFF = $145.01

Recent, actual prices from a supplier per quotes for a particular project were
a little more than 1/3rd of the list price for 55 gal drums of AR-AFFF.

Just for curiosity, what does a gallon of 3% AFFF cost?
I just need a ballpark figure.

Thanks,
