Also- this is a case of obstructed const. where the max deflector distance (11") is less than max for unobstructed (12").

For slopes greater than 2:12 the sidewall is to be located at the high point. Are you able to do this? -----Original Message----- From: Chris Cahill [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:48 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Sidewalls under non-smooth clg? Got a 4:12 pitch ceiling in a bunch of office spaces on the outer ring of a wood frame building. The ceiling is the underside of the roof so there is no attic over the offices. There's a cold attic adjacent in theory we could use dry side walls at a 4:12 angle to cover the space. This is what the Arch wants. The center portion is a flat ceiling with attic above. But the problem is there is 5" deep beams about 3' oc running parallel to the slope. So it's not a smooth ceiling. And with the beams I think its obstructed construction, still mulling that over 'cuz they are only 5" deep. I think it's clear just looking for acceptance within myself. Anybody know of a dry side wall that can be used under either an obstructed clg or a non smooth clg? Chris Cahill, P.E.
