Can anyone (Drucker) help me with this:
I have hazy recall of a provision in the building code that if egress travel distance in a dwelling unit is more than a threshold distance (100', I think) from the egress system, then the design has to be upgraded to a full 13. There are several of these little switches buried in the I-code for multi-family residential, such as a 13 upgrade that will allow unprotected openings to be tabulated for area as if they were protected (704.8.1), but I can't find this one. Or maybe I imagined it?
