I'd say "parts is parts" but I'm sure the DoD thinks otherwise.
My old Grinnell Pipe manual has some very specific requirements for bolting
materials. I'll be faxing it to you.

Subject: Bolts, Nuts, Washers

Does anyone have any background information regarding the need to specify
bolts, nuts, and washers in conjunction with fire protection piping? For
those of you who work with the DoD specifications, these topics call for
editing by the engineer. For those of you who deal with flanged components,
what type bolts, nuts, and washers do you buy? Do you even know what you
are buying?

NFPA 13 is pretty specific when it comes to piping and fittings, but silent
I believe for bolts, nuts, washers.

Maybe everyone except me knows this, if so, fill me in.

Thank you.
