I have seen this on a wet system with a shot gun riser and no back flow of
any kind. Due to the fluctuation in the city main you could see the paddle
move back and forth almost continually, but never staying in one position
long enough to outlast the retard system on the flow switch. This switch
failed after who knows how many thousands of cycles on the flow switch
paddle. Maybe something to look at.

Subject: System Sensor Waterflow leak problem

We have a mixed-use property in our town that has replaced two System Sensor
Model WFD30-2 switches within the past year. The leak was not at the
gasket-pipe interface, but where the paddle body bolts to the upper
assemble.

I can recall have replaced a few of these from this manufacture , have any
of your sprinkler fitters or inspectors run into this problem with System
Sensor waterflow switches ?

Thank you,
