I'm not sure I see a problem. He's the engineer of record and he decides what the domestic demand is. Nobody else. And you are on a need to know basis since you're not doing the plumbing. Therefore, you will know what he decides it to be, when he decides. And he'll likely formulate an opinion of just what does and does not flow downhill while he's at it.
So when (not if) he boogers up your work beyond reasonable or immediate repair, you will issue a request for additional services and hang him out to dry. I understand that you're a timid person George, and not predisposed to conflict, but sometimes you just have to step up and push back. I replied to his boss and told em it’s a dinky $12,000 job, life's too short. And another of these, I'll forward to the client- since they love us. Funnier- the 55 gpm domestic came the day before from his boss! glc You need to get something straight, my friend: the domestic demand is NOT 55 GPM. I repeat: the domestic demand is not 55 GPM. I don’t know where you are getting that number, but it’s wrong. Do you understand? I am the P.E. I am the Engineer of Record on this project. I decide what the domestic water demand is, nobody else. You will know what the domestic demand is when I tell you, and not before. Another thing: yes, I understand that PSI varies with K-factor and coverage area. What I’m asking you is the following: what GPM do you require? what PSI do you require at the Base of Riser? Call me.
