NFPA 13, 21.23.2.3 (2010) & NFPA 318, 4.1.2.6.2.2 (2009) provide for maximum spacing of exhaust duct sprinklers at 20'. Based on this spacing I would assume half the distance is acceptable from the end of the duct. Is this correct, or should a different distance be used?
The next question has to do with 318, 4.1.2.6.7 which states, "Where the branch exhaust ductwork is constructed of combustible material, automatic sprinkler protection shall be provided within the workstation transition piece or the branch exhaust duct". I am assuming, once again, that this is only referring to those branch ducts that are equal to or greater than 75 in. sq. as defined in section 4.1.2.6. Is this a correct assumption? Thank you, and I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend, Bob Knight, CET III 208-318-3057 www.firebyknight.om _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://fireball.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
