Fire department connections shall be installed in accordance with the NFPA standard applicable to the system design and shall comply with Sections 912.2 through 912.5. Exceptions: 1. Limited area sprinkler systems supplied from the domestic water system. 2. Where the local fire department approves a single connection for a large diameter hose of at least 4 inches (102 mm). 3. An automatic sprinkler system with less than 20 sprinklers.
