9.2.1.2 is applicable if you're installing sprinklers within racks as far as support. The rest of 9.2 and 9.3 also deals with spacing and hangers and such. Notice that work "APPLICABLE" in 9.2.1.2. If you're installing rack sprinklers and there's suitable structure within that rack to support your sprinkler pipe than support it from the rack.
If you're installing area coverage sprinklers then you install per 9.2 & 9.3 sections and verbiage related to building structure support. Craig L.
