In New Jersey, the NJ DEP defines greywater as any “sanitary sewage
generated within a residential, commercial, or institutional facility which
does not include discharges from water closets or urinals.” Greywater is of
lesser quality than potable (drinkable) water but of higher quality than
blackwater, which in New Jersey “includes discharges from water closets,
toilets, urinals or similar fixtures alone or in combination with other
wastewater.”

Hope that helps,

Was there a decrease in velocity?

Seriously, if you could post what you discover about gray water, some of us
would be interested.
Bidding a job that wants LEED Gold, has graywater, and I've suggested 2"
main drain connected to its collector system.
Hope they don't run it thru washing machines, you know it smells like a
paycheck.

In my only experience with treated waste water in sprinkler systems the
water came from a pond. Snails, snails everywhere.
