Most of the BFV with internal switch have an NO. NC. wiring option that's why you see many leads coming from the switch. The position of the cam tab inside many valves will not allow you use a PIV switch. You can contact Potter which can provide you with some information or a bracket which will allow you to monitor the flag position.
I have always thought that using an OSYSU switch is the best switch option for this application because it will provide a signal if someone removes the switch as well as normal operation of the valve when the flag moves off normal position which can be NC or NO.
