The only time I've mixed heads is when I have to protect a soffit, or some other type of hanging obstruction (i.e. ceiling cloud). I'll put SSP-QRs in the soffit and still have EC-QR's protecting the high ceiling if I cant space accordingly. The only other situation I've done this is when providing a water curtain.
