A client in a rural area has a diesel VT fire pump taking suction from an underground 30000 gallon cistern. Their domestic supply is fed from a separate well. The jockey pump takes suction from the domestic water supply. Is there a problem with this? There is a backflow preventer on the jockey pump suction line.
