NFPA 20 (2013) Figure A.11.4.4 appears to indicate a 10 ft vertical distance requirement between the vent and the fill cap on a fire pump fuel tank however, this becomes prohibitive in providing support for vertical 4" pipe stacks off elevated platforms. Does this distance have to be vertical, or may it be radial distance similar to what is commonly defined in NFPA 497 (2012) and API RP 500; more specifically as an inverse to NFPA 497 Figure 5.10.6 or API RP 500 Figure 18?
