Make sure you read 8.15.11 in NFPA 13.

8.15.11.3
Sprinkler shall be required inside these rooms, unless all 4 of these
conditions are met:
1. The room is dedicated to electrical equipment only.
2. Only dry-type electrical equipment is used.
3. Equipment is installed in a 2-hour fire rated enclosure including
protection for penetrations.
4. No combustible storage is permitted to be stored in the room.

I don't know if this has been talked about but #3, I said last night it was
2 hour rated walls. Maybe my thinking isn't correct. Actually reading the
code this morning I believe it's talking about the actual equipment
enclosure, hence the terminology. Or would it apply to either the actual
equipment enclosure or room "enclosure"? Since if the room is fire rated it
would "enclose" the equipment.

Just asking because when this is brought up by people or fire officials
usually indicate walls, but actually reading it again is that really
correct?
