You just have to remember that if you are in a burning car you should get out 
before you enter the garage...or, make sure you shut the garage door once 
inside.

In Seattle even the big parking garages for multi-family, 13 or 13R,  don't (or 
at least didn't when I worked for a living) require them on self closing doors 
as the doors are considered to be very temporary obstructions at best. In the 
what realm though I suppose someone could say, but what if someone drove a 
burning car into the garage. People could die.
