NFPA 13-2013 art.8.17.5.2.1 mentions: In buildings of light or ordinary hazard
occupancy, 21⁄2 in. hose valves for fire department use shall be permitted to
be attached to wet pipe sprinkler system risers.

1- Is it acceptable to attach a pipe to a class I standpipe riser in a
stairwell to feed an outside sprinkler room. The room would include three wet
pipe sprinkler systems with alarm check valves and individual control valves.

2- Is it acceptable to have an auxiliary dry pipe sprinkler valve fed by a
combination standpipe/sprinkler riser?

3- Is it acceptable to have a storage occupancy protected by sprinklers
from a combination standpipe/sprinkler riser?

Thanks

Alex Lupien
