Steve- Are you saying the 1-1/2" is correct or the 2-1/2" with the reducer? If the 2-1/2" what's the point of the reducer?

It can be arranged either as a standpipe system or as hose valves supplied by the sprinkler system. I've done several schools and the AHJ has always allowed 1-1/2" valves since they would only be used in a "clean-up" type capacity. A/E now wants me to change them to 2-1/2" valves with a 1-1/2" threaded reducer. Make sense to anybody? Brian Harris, CET BVS Systems Inc.
