Frankly all I'm looking for is a complete breakdown of the true overall cost of a home fire sprinkler system, soup to nuts. A spreadsheet breaking out every last item would be great.
I have no faith in the numbers being cited as I've witnessed firsthand numbers in the $ 3- $ 4 per square foot range with all things considered. The typical question is not “how much is it?” But instead, “How much per month?” Ownership of something they likely didn’t want in the first place is not going to come in to play. Plus, you are likely not going to take it with you, so what difference does it make? Home fire sprinklers are simply about how can we do it at low cost and still be effective. In areas with high meter fees, the Talco Home Hydrant is great to offset cost. Where the meter cost is not a factor, basic riser is best option. It’s all about cost effective for this game.
