So ... you're suggesting that sprinklers be ... spaced as detectors? What's
the "deflector" distance of a heat detector and how would that translate to
sprinklers on branch piping exactly? What the hell are you even talking
about? I get that sense Brad that, at this point, you're just posting for the
sake of seeing your words in print because that's the 2nd-most ridiculous thing
(after the Ghost Ship comment) you've ever put up. Please, just stop.

Sharon - since it's framed of wood, I'd look at the criteria for depth and
on-center the spacing of the members. It's likely to end up being (or closest)
to Wood Joist Construction per A.3.7.1 (6) and that section even includes
criteria on the span. The honeycomb elements will catch head just as solid
wood or composite joist members will; the honeycomb pockets look (in photos, I
had to Google "Lamella Roof") like the area and volume would be less than a TJI
channel typically is, so heat and combustion byproduct will log down to the
sprinklers pretty quickly. An unusual configuration by today's standards but
I'm not sure it has to be that complicated for sprinkler locations.

All I've got Sharon is to look at NFPA 72 spacing and position rules
for heat detectors for dome roofs, since the first responsibility of a
sprinkler is to be a heat detector, and 13 does not adress dome roofs.
