A large client of a former employer used Omega's big rectangular unit, but it's retail is up in that high end bracket. They have some more affordable units (and also much smaller and easier to secure by the looks of it) in their "Nomad" line. Might be worth their time to see if they can get them at a discount as a municipality as well The Omega was highly robust, tracable/NIST/etc and had excellent battery life. One lesson learned possibly worth sharing is that an air purge is a necessity, we used them primarily for "unmanned" 2 hour hydrostatic testing as a witness for the owner, air in such a small pipe can wreak havoc on the results for some time.
