Thanks Ron and others for your responses.

I told the Arch that these cylinders needed to be in or very near the protected
area. Yeah they take up floor space, which is a premium. So we have this nice
big fire riser room where they can be placed. Works great but kind of far from
the protected areas.

There are two pressure classes, 360 psi and 725 psi. The contractor didn't
identify which pressure class they were using, I suspect it's the lower which
would create a distance problem between discharge and cylinders.

And my apologies for asking this question here since this is really a
suppression related question more so than a fire sprinkler question. I thought
someone here might work in both types of systems and have run up against this
in the past.

I appreciate those jumping in with suggestions.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: Flexible assembly for Novec 1230 at seismic separation
joint

I'm guessing the architect's solution to HIS mistake for not researching the
need for adequate space is to put the bottles on the "wrong" side of the
seismic wall. I just looked at a website for this stuff and from the photos on
the home page concluded that a lot of space might be required and had I been
him maybe sought the advice of someone familiar with the requirements, someone
like the manufacturer. also, looking at that webpage I saw each bottle being
fed into piping held together with grooved couplings. This led me to the
simplest of solutions, which I suspect you looked into and rejected, but I've
been around the block enough times to know that sometimes the simple solutions
tp problems just elude us, so could you use the multi-joint seismic connection
from NFPA 13? And when you think, "Of course I have you moron," I'll not take
offense. 🤔
