I tried to investigate this a little bit but didn't find any solid answers. I 
believe the pintle on the deflector signifies that the sprinkler’s K-factor is 
not standard for the thread size. Is that a ½” NPT head? The 11.4 may be the 
exact k-factor while the data sheet lists the 11.2K nominal k-factor since NFPA 
13 allows the actual outlet to be anywhere from 10.7k-11.7k. Maybe Gem just 
wanted to be very clear on the exact k-factor for calculations, especially if 
it is a non-standard thread size.
