Typically my first step is to see if the current system is of any value either in whole or in part towards protection of the new arrangement. If not, it becomes a demo and reconstruct project.
If the current criteria cannot protect the new rack system, splitting it is a moot point. The systems were hydraulically calculated to a 0.60/3000. Unfortunately, I don't have information as to what was the original storage arrangement/commodity classification. There is one grid which is around 50,000 sq ft in size. From what I am reading, a system this large was not allowed back then. The current owner wants to add rack storage (W/O in-racks) of Group A, cartoned, non-expanded plastics. I am going to tell the owner he needs to break up the original system into two to be code compliant but just wanted to check with the forum first.
