Does anyone know of a sprinkler that is listed for use in compartments over 600
sq. ft. in area that have sloped beamed ceilings? NFPA 13D and 13R don't offer
a prescriptive solution and here in SoCal, agencies have accepted a third or
fifth sprinkler in the design area depending on the standard being applied.
Predictably, along comes an AHJ that won't accept that without a "technical
justification" prepared by an FPE. Since nobody's ever heard of that and it's
not a defined term, industry here in LoCal is stumped. If not a listed
solution, has anyone seen or know where to ask for the results of any fire
testing or modeling that's been done on this scenario?
