Get the owner to clearly delineate what is being stored where and any insurance
requirements.

Group A plastic solid pile storage 18-feet high for plastic areas (unless you
can justify Class IV by weight) (usually there is not expanded)

Minimum Class III in paper areas

Provide draft curtains between hazard areas if not separate rooms

Some insurance companies or corporate standard require supplemental water
monitors (cannons)

More information

Storage of standard household recyclables, paper, cardboard, plastics, metal,

Standard recycling, bulk drop off, then separation into classes then baled and
shipped out.

Subject: [Sprinklerforum] Recycling Plant

We are looking at a recycling plant where the pipes could be up to 18' high.

Are we looking at general storage or is there a standard for this type of
application?

My design brain is saying this is a higher hazard than normal.

Thank You
