Menus can be expanded right off the bat. Edit menu.ini, remove submenu=1 and all menu entries for the section will be shown on screen. It makes a long menu though.
To collapse all the menus to their toplevel you add directives [AR] module=menu.pl action=acc_menu target=acc_menu submenu=1 You can do this with all the others which leaves you with a short menu. To direct this into a thrid frame is also possible with the addition of a custom_ script to setup the third frame and then changing the target= line to point to the new frame.
