Maybe it's possible to install both the new and the old version of PostgreSQL
in parallel?
If you install the new pgsql by running "make install" it backs up the
binaries of your previous pgsql installation in a backup directory so you can
still usw them to dump your data. Maybe something similar will work with the
Redhat RPMs, too...
