Yes, transactions are not disabled, you're right. But would not setting SYNCHRONOUS off not give you about the same factor of 20 improvement as your removal of FlushFileBuffers -- without requiring a source change?
As to what further speedup might result from truly disabling transactions, you wouldn't expect anywhere near another factor of 20, right?
