On the other hand the 4 bulletin boards that I try to follow I often forget about and don't get to more than once a week because I have to go to each one individually and each has it's own mechanisms for tracking new messages and such.
Luckily as Igor mentioned there are several options for viewing this and many other mailing lists through an online or nntp interface so that can give the subscriber the choice. Choice is good.
