same problem here on ARMbian (based on debian Jessie). May be that a checkbox in the web interface to deactivate this filter could be a good idea. With the use of dockers and other technologies like that accessing from different subnet It will happening more and more often.
The whole purpose of that change is to protect people who opened up their LMS to the world without knowing about its consequences. Providing a button to disable it would render the whole feature obsolete, as people would click that button without knowing about the consequences again.
