I don't want C-3PO for some UPnP players because transcoding in the UPnP bridge gives other benefits that are otherwise unavailable, and 2 sets of transcoding seems like overkill to me. For some other players it's unnecessary - the standard set of rules works in all cases, except now for the transcode case that I luckily don't need for those players. I'm aware that your transcoding is more sophisticated than the standard set, but I'm old enough and have lost enough hearing that I don't think I'd notice the difference that the tweaks C-3PO can add.
