I don't know about Avast in particular, but there is a good chance that it has a built-in firewall that prevents external systems making a connection to "ports" that LMS is listening on. Try temporarily disabling it - and if that resolves it then you will have to work out how to tell it to allow LMS to receive connections from the local LAN.
