I thought I had a decent sized library at c40k tracks! I cant help but think that you are pushing a Pi3 quite close to its limits with a 400k library and making it act as both server and player. The weak point of all Pis up to Pi4 is the shared USB/LAN bus. I assume the 4TB drive isnt SSD? How do you back it up? IMHO you need to rethink your setup a bit.
