I've gone on vacation and brought along one of my Squeezebox radios, thinking I should be able to access my music over the Internet. I assumed I would just need to setup some port forwarding in my router, and enter the dyndns address of my home server in the Squeezebox.
However, I'm starting to feel slightly mad. There seems to be no way to enter a host name or IP address of the LMS server in the Squeezebox..?! I think I checked all possible menu entries. The Change library setting only lets me chose between the old library under the name of the host as it was known locally when I was connected on the LAN, or MySqueezebox. I even went so far as to enable SSH, login to the Squeezebox, and search for configuration files. I found some files in /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/settings containing the old server's name and IP address. I changed this to the external IP and host name. Now it shows up as my library, but I still cannot connect. I have opened port 9000 and 3483 in my router, and forward them to the LMS server on the LAN. It feels like I'm missing something here.
