I think I've been able to resolve it by removing the files in question,
bulk converting them from *.FLAC to *.MP4 (apple lossless) via Musicbee,
then reloading in the library. Ran a trial this morning with success. So
I'll do the bulk format conversion on the rest this afternoon.
