You may be at a dead end but more system info may provide options. What model Synology NAS and s/w version ? What type/model of player ? If timer just moves but no audio and player can only play MP3 - then problem may be in transcoding application such as faad and falc = it may be possible to find suitable executable as a short term workaround.
