I'm pretty sure you are :). But it's not me who's interested in, and it's not you who's asking at shoutcast.com for data. Instead, you get a compilation from SN without being able to benefit from the goodies on the web page (i.e. from Nullsoft's WinAmp advertisings), and shoutcast gets its queries from SN which they may consider non-private. I don't blame Nullsoft for that; it's a totally reasonable business model and (apart from the fact that I rarely use Windows) WinAmp is a good product. It just means one more step for us SN users: we have to go to shoutcast.com (that's what they're interested in), look there for the station's home page, and there for their stream address, then paste the address into SN's web interface. Even right-clicking (in firefox) shoutcast's play button, selecting "copy link location" and pasting the result into SN's favorite list will do, but I've got the impression that the playlist you get this way has a somewhat limited life time. Better download its contents and use the address(es) found inside. Sure, you can't zap through shoutcast stations this way. For me, that's a minor nuisance. I think we'll have to live with whatever shoutcast decides to answer when it gets queries from the SN server. _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
