Strictly speaking, you're right, but who has a SqueezeBox who doesn't also own a PC? Even though the PC doesn't need to be turned on for the SqueezeBox to work, technically, it's misleading to think that people who don't have a PC with a net connection would ever be inclined to purchase a Squeezebox. The SqueezeBox is basically a toy for PC enthusiasts, and only PC enthusiasts would be aware of such a device. Internet radio devices are so below the radar that even many PC enthusiasts don't know about them. Internet radio, generally, is treasured by those who use it, but is otherwise unknown to most people. In fact, when I first tried internet radio, a few years before I read of the SqueezeBox, I wasn't interested. Then I discovered some internet radio stations that specialize in my favorite kinds of music, and shortly after discovered the SqueezeBox. It's only when these various technologies *converge* in a convenient way that they can become part of pop culture.
