You don't need gigabit - the highest bitrate you can stream to any SB
product is 24/96 WAV at 4608 kbps, which is almost doable over 802.11b.
So 100 Mbps wired networking is fine.

However you should avoid having both the server and the SB wireless
because you'll have two wireless hops.  This makes you very prone to
wireless networking problems like interference from other wireless
networks or devices.

If you mean the server will be connected to the router by regular 100
Mbps Ethernet, then the SB to the router wirelessly, this is fine.  You
have a big pipe (~90 Mbps real-world performance for 100 Mbps
consumer-level Ethernet equipment) feeding a much smaller pipe (~25
Mbps real-world performance for 802.11g) so using an even bigger
Gigabit Ethernet pipe isn't going to make a difference.
