You don't need gigabit - the highest bitrate you can stream to any SB product is 24/96 WAV at 4608 kbps, which is almost doable over 802.11b. So 100 Mbps wired networking is fine. However you should avoid having both the server and the SB wireless because you'll have two wireless hops. If you mean the server will be connected to the router by regular 100 Mbps Ethernet, then the SB to the router wirelessly, this is fine.
