My six-year-old wireless router gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. When I replaced it, I started encountering the same problem. All my wireless devices (two laptops, a Wii, and one Squeezebox) would lose their connections when our five-year-old 2.4GHz cordless phones were in use.
For whatever reason, the wireless signal with the new router was more susceptible to interference from the phones than the old one was. Anyway, I replaced our phones with DECT 6.0 phones.
