Hmmm...I'm not certain the files need to be visible to SN, as it's possible to use SN to listen to ISP-specific streams which aren't visible outside of that network (using the "noscan" argument I believe). The reason this would normally fail is that SN tries to open the file/stream first to check it's valid and/or do any redirects (such as asf files). The magic flag disables this so it just assumes it's OK and passes it straight to the SB.
