Hey Ghostrider I bought the system simply because I did not want the hassle of owning and controlling a home server. Unlike you I have more important things to do with my time than be a server administrator. The product is meant to work unless of course you are suggesting that Squeezebox is only suitable for geeks and nerds.... if this is true, you should throw it away now as it will die a death.
Make it work as promised - scale it for the customer base, plan ahead and keep customers happy.
